Ogilvie Dollars for Scholars 2018 Awards Ceremony
The citizen's Scholarship Foundation of Ogilvie Dollars for Scholars held their Annual Awards Ceremony on May 20, 2018 at the Ogilvie High School. As part of Scholarship America's national network of locally based, volunteer-drive, the Dollars for Scholars' mission is to mobilize our community on behalf of post-secondary education success for our students. This year we are pleased to announce that a total of $20,100 was awarded to four 2018 Ogilvie High School Graduates. Also, through generous donations, for the first time, CSF Ogilvie Dollars for Scholars opened up scholarships to former Ogilvie HS Graduates currently attending college. Ten $1000 scholarships were awarded to the following alumni: Class of 2015 Jamie Dary, Jesse Lee, Joseph Ryan; Class of 2016 Sarah Anderson, Kaitlyn Harlan, Madisen Hass, Alix Heins, Samantha Olson, Jordana Yotter; and Class of 2017 Brooklyn Yotter. Thank you to all those that have donated and supported the program throughout the years. Class of 2018 HS Senior Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Recipients: Braden Ryan, Randy Larson, Jordin Klar and Hanna Anderson. Russell Bergen Memorial / Neighborhood National Bank Scholarship $1,000 each Jordin Klar and Randy Larson with Phyllis Bergren. Carl J. Ahlgren Scholarship $1500 4-year renewable - Randy Larson with Stacy Olson, Chapter President. Randy was also awarded the Nels A. Lee Scholarship $300, and the Ed & Alice Nelson Scholarship $300. Lincoln Trust Scholarship $1000 4-year renewable - Jordin Klar with Stacy Olson, Chapter President.Jean Tolzman Memorial Scholarship $1000 - Braden Ryan with Gene Tolzman.
CSF of Ogilvie Dollars for Scholars Vocational Award & S.T.A.R. Award $500 Hanna Anderson with Stacy Olson, Chapter President.
Duane Pearson Scholarship $750 4-year renewable Teresa Pearson with Jordin Klar.
Ogilvie Fire Department $500 each - Braden Ryan and Hanna Anderson, with Kevin Drost.
Eldore Miller Memorial Scholarship $500 - Hanna Anderson, with Hazel Miller.
Ogilvie Shipping Association Scholarship $500 - Randy Larson with Arlys Munsterteiger.
OWN-IT Scholarship $250 EACH - Jordin Klar and Randy Larson, with OWN-IT Advisor Amber Aasen.
